Empowering therapy for real life challenges
Insight is the start.
Change is the goal.
At Empower Me, therapy isn’t just a conversation — it’s a space for tangible growth you’ll carry into your daily life. Our team skillfully draws from a wide range of evidence-based modalities like CBT, DBT, play therapy, and trauma-informed care to help clients of all ages build real-world skills: emotion regulation, executive functioning, communication, boundary-setting, and more. Whether you're navigating anxiety, parenting stress, school struggles or major life transitions, we tailor every session to meet your needs and help you move forward, not just reflect. We work with children, teens and adults, offering deep, relational therapy paired with practical tools that you can carry into every day life.
Local roots.
World-class care.
Founded by Jennifer Pearlman, LMHC, our practice is located in the heart of Nassau County, with an in-person office conveniently positioned to serve clients throughout the region. We work with adults, children, teenagers and families across Roslyn Heights, Garden City, Mineola, Port Washington, and nearby communities, offering a warm, welcoming space for growth and healing. For clients in the greater New York State, we provide secure and accessible telehealth services, ensuring that compassionate care is always within reach.
We treat individuals.
We think in families.
People don’t exist in a vacuum, and we firmly believe that therapeutic change doesn’t either. Whether we’re working with a child, teen, adult, couple, or family, we take the full context into account — relationships, environments, school experiences, and family dynamics. We offer a wide range of services across the lifespan, with specialties in parenting support, child and adolescent therapy, anxiety and mood disorders, relationship challenges, and life transitions. For families with school-aged children, we don’t just check the boxes. We follow through — collaborating with schools, advocating when needed, and ensuring continuity between therapy and daily life. Our holistic, family-oriented approach means every member of the system is seen, supported, and set up to thrive.
“Jen will reach out to whomever works with her client in school, or any other environment, in order to gain a complete picture… There truly are no words to express how much Jen has helped our son and what she means to our family. We would follow her to the moon and back if necessary.”

“You know when you can just look across the room at someone — without shaking or nodding your head — and being able to communicate exactly what you are thinking to them? It’s very, very rare that someone — a therapist — gets to know you and your family so well that this is the case. But that is the person that Jen Pearlman is to our family.
Jen has worked with our son for more than eleven years — since he was 14 years old in a school environment — through his transition to a young man and through her transition to a private practice. We would follow her to the moon and back if necessary.
I think that it is very significant that Jen began her years as a therapist in a school, because that gives her accurate insight into the unique challenges that an adolescent may face in that environment. A therapist sees a person and that person’s interaction with his or her family, but that is only a part of what makes up the patient’s world. School is a significant component that cannot be ignored, and Jen will reach out to whomever works with that person in school, or any other environment, in order to gain a complete picture. Jen gets to know her patients and the family very well, as well as any significant others in her patient’s life, and she is thorough.
Jen is also very warm and loving and she is quick to smile and laugh. She also offers specific, concrete suggestions to help address particular issues and situations. Jen is intuitive, and she “reads a room” like no other therapist I have ever worked with. It’s hard to say if that is her best quality, but it’s at or near the top.
There truly are no words to express how much Jen has helped our son and what she means to our family. We are blessed that she was placed in our path, and we continue to be so twice a week every week.”

It starts with a message or a call. Within 48 business hours, you'll hear back from us, and we’ll schedule a time to connect by phone. That first conversation helps us understand your background, determine if we’re a good fit, and gives you space to ask any questions.
If it feels right to move forward, an intake appointment is typically scheduled within a week or two. We make it a priority to offer timely openings, so the waiting period doesn't stretch longer than necessary.
Sessions are available both in-person and via telehealth. While virtual therapy offers greater flexibility, in-person sessions are encouraged, particularly for children and teens, where the connection can feel more immediate and grounded.

Frequently asked questions
We’re a private-pay practice. However, many clients use superbills to receive out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider. While this means paying up front, clients tell us the level of care, flexibility, and results make the investment worthwhile.
Our office is in Roslyn Heights, but we work with clients across Nassau County — including Garden City, Mineola, Port Washington, and the surrounding areas. Some clients even come from Manhattan. Virtual sessions are also available for clients across New York State.
Yes. Telehealth is available for those who need the flexibility. That said, we generally recommend in-person sessions, especially for children and teens.
Sessions are typically 45 minutes, while the intake is typically 1 - 1.5 hours.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. The aim is to reduce frequency as progress towards goals are made. It’s a growth-oriented approach that supports lasting change.
